The Sydney Thunder have begun BBL|09 with an impressive victory over tournament-favourites the Brisbane Heat.
And it was off the back of an impressive display spearheaded by captain Callum Ferguson.

The yellow cap for BBL09 made its first appearance at the Gabba on Tuesday night.
But it might need a bit more time before it becomes a massive hit with the players, with Callum Ferguson becoming the first wearer of the new uniform.
The leading run-scorer at any given time of the BBL will wear the golden hat, referred to as the BKT Golden Bat.
It was open slather to anyone in game one, given every player in the competition begun on zero runs, but Ferguson came out on top with a stellar knock of 73 not out in the first innings.
Instead of walking out in the field with his green Thunder cap, Ferguson was handed the golden cap and wore it for the entire Brisbane Heat batting innings.
"This will be coming off as quickly as possible once we're off the ground. It's not my colour,” Ferguson joked.
“I feel like a bit of a knob with it on.”
Chris Lynn, one of the favourites to be the leading run scorer in BBL09, failed to make an impact and was dismissed for nine.
